Day 2: Saturday, June 21
Time for battle!! The KCB begins to saddle horses, don arms, and limber guns. Watching it all we see a "foreign observer," a common site in the larger armies in the Civil War. Here is Rudy A., a native of Bolivia, and a horse soldier in Bolivia's official cavalry before he moved to the U.S., doing a splendid job of portraying a foreign obersver.

Day 2: Saturday, June 21
Men of the 1st Kentucky Cavalry & Horse Artillery, Co. B, of the Kentucky Cavalry Brigade, finish harnessing and preparations in readying their six-horse-hitch and big wheel gun for the field.

Day 2: Saturday, June 21
Men of Gracey's Kentucky Battery complete preparation of their small-wheel gun. The Kentucky Cavalry Brigade in conjunction with the Bluegrass Mountain Artillery has the finest assemblage of small-wheel guns under one command in the entire U.S. hobby.

As the KCB's 1st Kentucky continues their work we see a view from the business end of the gun.

Trooper Josh Butcher of The Posse is mounted and ready.

The bugles sounds and the Kentucky Cavalry Brigade begins to move toward the battlefield! Corporal Brett Bellamy is the brigade's bugler.

 

 

 

Day 2 Saturday, June 21
The brigade moves forward. The artillery comes out first and here we see Lt. Todd Marks of Cobb's Kentucky Battery (Middle Tennessee), the Kentucky Cavalry Brigade's newest unit, sitting atop his limber as he drives his team of mules to take he gun onto the field. The men of Cobb's with some volunteers from other KCB units accompany the gun.

Day 2 Saturday, June 21
With a clear field the 1st Kentucky rolls it's big gun forward, accompanied by outriders from the 1st Kentucky and The Posse.
