You never know what you might find around camp if you walk around early in the morning. Outside the command tent, looking a bit worse for the wear, quietly sits Captain Tod Lane, of the 9th Kentucky Cavalry..

Later in the morning Rev. Ron Meadows, the brigade's chaplain, delivers his first sermon.

As the day progressed troopers began to move about the field. Here on the front field, near the spectator stands, come troopers Brett Bellamy (rear) and Greg Maggard (front) of the 1st Kentucky Cavalry.

Captain Rob Irwin, of the 9th Kentucky Cavalry, prepares to join the brigade as it gathers for battle.

With the sound of war drums in the air, the men of the Kentucky Cavalry Brigade mount their horses and prepare to ride to war. Colonel Ron Robinson, back to the camera, n the right, prepares him men for the coming battle.

The first of a remarkable set of photos. What does it look like to be on the wrong end of a cavalry charge? Take muzzle-end look as Capt. Anthony Wells of The Posse leads his men.

The men of storm up to the enemy.....

...and sweep by, as pistol shots fill the air.

More to Come!
